Mobile Radio Sales – Account Mgr

Job Description
Person to represent Wireless System Business Unit products and services to all current and potential customers in the New England area. Includes prospecting, trade shows, presentations to individuals and groups, proposal preparation and contract negotiation. Plan, develop and execute sales strategies to meet assigned orders quota. Responsible for direct sales within assigned territory as well as management and support of in-direct sales channels. Develop positive relationships at multiple levels within the customer’s organization. Influence customer specifications to gain competitive advantage. Maintain assigned account management records including; contact name, equipment history, orders history and orders forecasting. Gather market intelligence on competitive activities including products, pricing, strategies and tactics. The position requires ~40% overnight travel in territory with periods of week long absences when preparing bid responses or attending shows and seminars.

Job Requirements
Technical background in communication or IT products . Previous successful sales experience in the large municipal market is desired. LMR experience may be valuable. Ability to function and influence at the State and local executive and legislative level, knowledge of the political processes, knowledge of state and local finance issues, 5-10 years sales or domain experience with state goverment or public safety sales, BA/BS or equivalent experience. Public safety experience a plus. Strong customer communication and relationship skills, strong public speaking and presentation skills, and problem solving skills
